The Mount Desert Island Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Hermon Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mount Desert Island took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against John Bapst Memorial, sneaking past 6-4. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

05/03/25 vs Old Town | 7 |
04/30/25 vs Washington Academy | 5 |
Preston Tripp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mount Desert Island got a big performance out of Colin Sullivan, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Sullivan has posted since back in May of 2024. Ben Ingram also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Hermon came out on top against Caribou on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Hawks walked away with a 10-5 win over the Vikings. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their one-run performance the game before.
The team relied heavily on Cam Morrison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. Hermon is undefeated when Morrison posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Max Hopkins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Hermon lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Mount Desert Island's record is now 2-3. As for Hermon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount Desert Island has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hermon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mount Desert Island couldn't quite get it done against Hermon in their previous matchup on Monday as they fell 7-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
