This season hasn't been kind to the Halifax Wildcats, who are still winless after their sixth match. They were the victim of a rough 53-27 defeat at the hands of Millersburg on Saturday. Halifax has struggled against Millersburg recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Halifax lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Savage. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with 17 rebounds.
It was another big night for Emma Miller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 rebounds for Millersburg. The game was Miller's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fallon Mcfadden, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Halifax bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.2 points per game. As for Millersburg, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halifax will challenge Susquenita at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Susquenita's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Halifax's offense will have their work cut out for Halifax. As for Millersburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Newport at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Newport comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
