The Foothill Mustangs came into Wednesday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 48-42 W over Johnson on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Foothill also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Zeniah Thompson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Foothill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maryssa Arnold, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Johnson still got an impressive performance from Timoa Pa'aga, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pa'aga has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Iris Vang, who scored 13 points.
Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Johnson, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Foothill will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Florin is on a five-game streak of home losses, the Mustangs a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Johnson will take on the Nighthawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
