Eisenhower hasn't had much luck against Carter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Carter will be up against a hot Eisenhower team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand Arroyo Valley a 10-0 shutout on Thursday.
Denzel Sahagun was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Eisenhower is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-11 otherwise. Sahagun was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eric Gutierrez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derek Mendoza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Eisenhower always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arroyo Valley only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Carter got the win against Colton on Thursday by a conclusive 13-3. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like Eisenhower, Carter also got a great game from a two-way player: Raul Rodarte. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Rodarte was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Angel Acevedo was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Emmanuel Olvera was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Carter's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Eisenhower, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
