Knox Central hasn't had much luck against Corbin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Redhounds at 8:30 p.m. Knox Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 20 games.
While Knox Central's win against Bell County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 7-6 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Bobcats since March 21, 2024.

Trevor Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Corbin was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against North Laurel as they made off with a 9-2 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Redhounds have posted against the Jaguars since April 29, 2024.
Brady Webb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trey Person, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. Corbin is 7-1 when Person posts two or more stolen bases, but 14-15 otherwise. Malachi Zachery was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Knox Central's win bumped their record up to 27-6. As for Corbin, their victory bumped their record up to 21-16.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Knox Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Corbin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Knox Central might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Corbin in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
