On Thursday, Sonora lost to Edison on the road by a decisive 39-25 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sonora has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Sonora saw an underclassman step up: Isabella Ahrens scored 13 points. The game was Ahrens' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Serva, who scored six points.
Sonora's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Edison, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonora will challenge Hughson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hughson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four contests. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to face off against Manteca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manteca will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
