Kiel is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Oconto is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Raiders will welcome the Blue Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Thursday, Kiel sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Brillion.
The team relied heavily on Logan Guzman, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Oconto posted their closest victory since April 28th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oconto Falls, sneaking past 3-1.
Davis Knoll was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Knoll wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Lassanke, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Oconto hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Kiel's win bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Oconto, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kiel has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Oconto struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
