Softball Recap: Treutlen Has No Trouble Against Putnam County

While Treutlen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Putnam County War Eagles on Thursday as they made off with a 10-2 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Jayden Rogers was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cloey Hutcheson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ruthie Blair, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Treutlen's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Putnam County, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Treutlen will face off against Dublin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Putnam County, they will head out on the road to challenge Warner Robins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
