Baseball Recap: North Georgia Homeschool Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, North Georgia HomeSchool brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They never let Trinity Classical get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Tribe brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Leighton Luck made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, North Georgia HomeSchool got a massive performance out of Jacob Harmon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Harmon a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kirk Dotson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

North Georgia HomeSchool kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

With the victory, North Georgia HomeSchool broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-13. As for Trinity Classical, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, North Georgia HomeSchool will head out to face off against Scholars Guild Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Trinity Classical, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Non Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on the 12th.
