Westview barely beat Grossmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Westview Wolverines blew past the Grossmont Foothillers 12-6 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Jacob Kuy made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Kuy was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Charles Jaskowiak was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Irvine, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Westview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.
