The Willits Wolverines lost against the Middletown Mustangs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Wednesday. Willits was dealt a  50-16 loss at the hands of Middletown. It was the first time  this season that Willits let down their fans at home.
 Willits' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Cecily Potter, who  scored five points along with six  rebounds and four  blocks. Potter scored a full 31.3% of Willits' points, the seventh time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hazel Cooke, who  scored five points along with 11  rebounds and three  steals.
 Willits' defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 9-8. As for Middletown, they now  have a winning record of 6-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willits will  face off against Cloverdale at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Cloverdale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Willits in California (Cloverdale is ranked 264th, while Willits is ranked 613th). As for Middletown, they will head out on the road to face off against Clear Lake at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
