The Weatherford Kangaroos will head out on the road to  square off against  the Boswell Pioneers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Weatherford is coming into the  matchup on  a  six-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Weatherford ended up a good deal behind Lake Ridge and lost  63-46. While losing is never fun, the Kangaroos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Eagles are ranked 104th).
 Despite their  loss, Weatherford saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Dj Quimby, who rushed for 192 yards and three  scores, and also caught one  touchdown, was perhaps the best of all.  Jakob Hemphill was another key receiver, gaining 146 total yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile,  Boswell played a tough  game  on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by North Crowley 69-17. The Pioneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  35-10.
 Like Weatherford, Boswell lost despite seeing results from several players.  Chance Lassiter led the charge by picking up 76 receiving yards and one  TD, while also rushing for 36 yards.
 Weatherford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Boswell, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Weatherford beat Boswell 17-9  when the teams last played  back in November of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kangaroos since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
