Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Fort Gibson's Third in Last Four Outings

Fort Gibson lost to Lincoln Christian back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Tigers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 7-2.

Alyria Smith was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karsen Pemberton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Fort Gibson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Fort Gibson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln Christian, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Fort Gibson will challenge Miami at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Christian, they will face off against Cleveland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
