Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Wood Wildcats walked away with it. They walked away with  a   55-45  victory over the Patriots  on Wednesday. The  win was nothing new for Wood as they're now sitting on five straight.
 Leading Wood to victory were  Natalia Sanchez and  Sa?nyah Stewart.  Sanchez  scored 14 points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals, while  Stewart  scored 22 points along with five  steals and two  blocks. Stewart continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tianna Palmer, who  scored two points along with eight  rebounds and three  steals.
 Wood is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record  this season. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-4.
 Wood will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against East Union at 7:00  p.m.  on February 16th. Wood will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 401st, while East Union is ranked 162nd). Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
