Panther Creek had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Holly Springs Golden Hawks by a score of 16-7 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Catamounts sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.
Panther Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis Woodard led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and one TD.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Panther Creek's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Juarod Williams and Lacina Coulibaly, who racked up four sacks between them. Coulibaly is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Holly Springs' side was Jaysen Oriol, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
