Jose Iniguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tyler Tafoya and Roman Valdepena did most of the damage at the plate: Tafoya went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Valdepena went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Ramos, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep had just enough and edged out Campbell Hall 3-2 on Thursday.
Will Grable made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Grable was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Grable wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Aparicio, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.
Bosco Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Flintridge Prep, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.
Flintridge Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bosco Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448.
