While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, the Sylmar Spartans were not quite the Van Nuys Wolves's equal in the second half on Friday. Sylmar fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 47-44. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sylmar of the 61-39 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Sylmar's loss came despite strong showings from Vivianna Alvarado and Isabella Gonzalez. Alvarado scored 18 points, while Gonzalez scored 15 points. Gonzalez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Sylmar has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. As for Van Nuys, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Sylmar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Van Nuys also has no future games currently scheduled.
