Mt. Shasta's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emily Pigoni, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds, and Ellery DeArton who scored no points. It was the first time this season that Pigoni pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Mt. Shasta struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fall River racked up 19 assists.
Fall River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Cassity, who scored 25 points along with eight steals. Cassity has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Allison Osborne was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Mt. Shasta's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-21. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.5 points per game. As for Fall River, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.
