Stephen Paradiso Turns in Season-Best Effort
Stephen Paradiso produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Cedar Grove to the win on Friday. Paradiso threw for 337 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately for Glen Ridge, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Paradiso. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Paradiso saw the Ridgers), he threw for 222 yards and six touchdowns.

Verona was led to victory by Jayden Nigro, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Nigro rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 52 yards.
The win (which was Verona's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Nigro and Verona will challenge Glen Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Connor Kerney was instrumental in extending Cedar Grove's winning streak to seven on Friday. Kerney rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. We marked that as the best he's had all season, even better than his performance back in September.
On the season, Kerney has run in 3 touchdowns while averaging 17.3 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 7.86 rushing yards per game.
