The Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against High School of the Future, falling 44-17. Math Civics & Sciences was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.
High School of the Future got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahanna Mitchell out in front who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mitchell has scored at least a third of High School of the Future's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Symphany Hinson, who scored ten points.
Math Civics & Sciences' loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for High School of the Future, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
