In advance of July's evaluation period for high school prospects, MaxPreps will roll out a position-by-position outlook on the Class of 2013 this week.
We begin with the point guards, where
Andrew Harrison of
Fort Bend Travis (Richmond, Texas) is a clear-cut No. 1. At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, he possesses prototype size for his position. He can score as needed but is more than comfortable with setting up teammates – usually twin brother and high school and club teammate
Aaron (see tomorrow's shooting guard rankings).
Anthony Barber of
Hampton (Va.) and Florida Gator commitment
Kasey Hill of
Montverde Academy (Fla.) are the other five-star talents in this group.
Nigel Williams-Goss,
Tyler Ennis,
Conner Frankamp and
Zach LaVine are all major talents in their own right and could push for five-star status in July and during their respective campaigns.
Chicago's
Kyle Davis,
London Perrantes of
Crespi (Encino, Calif.), Memphis floor general
Sam Craft,
Shane Rector of
St. Raymond (Bronx, N.Y.), Seattle's
MarQuis Davis and San Diego two-sport stud
Tyree Robinson are among the players we hope to get a closer look at in July for future consideration.
MaxPreps will release updated class rankings for 2013 and 2014 in August, along with a watch list for 2015 prospects.
