The Beaver Bobcats fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Central Valley Warriors on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to the Warriors. Beaver just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Annsley Baker, who scored 14 points. Bridget Mayo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Beaver has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Central Valley, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-10.
Beaver will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blackhawk presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bobcats in Pennsylvania (the Cougars are ranked 68th, while the Bobcats are ranked 449th). As for Central Valley, they will be playing at home against the Quakers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
