Baseball Recap: Maywood CES Beats Marquez for Their Fifth Straight Win

Maywood CES came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Marquez Gladiators as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Brian Aguirre and David Aguirre did most of the damage at the plate: Brian went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while David went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Brian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aisaiah Monge, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Maywood CES pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Marquez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-9.

As of now, neither Maywood CES nor the Gladiators have any future games scheduled.
