Clearfield and Blackhawk squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Clearfield had to settle for second. They came up short against the Blackhawk Cougars, falling 58-32. The Bison's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Clearfield had strong showings from Sonny Diehl, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 14 points in addition to six steals and five boards, and Eve Helsel, who posted 11 points and four steals. That was a full 43.8% of Clearfield's points, marking the third time in a row Diehl has scored more than a third of the team's points. Mia Helsel was another key player, putting up five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blackhawk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubree Hupp, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 24 rebounds. The match was Hupp's 33rd in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Sheesley, who shot 44% from the field on her way to 22 points.

Clearfield's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Blackhawk, they pushed their record up to 25-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Clearfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blackhawk, they will face off against North Catholic on Saturday. North Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Blackhawk surely won't give up without a fight.
