The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals entered their tilt with the James Lick Comets with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Mt. Pleasant took their contest at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 61-28 win over James Lick. Mt. Pleasant has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Leading Mt. Pleasant to victory were Josefina Nyquist and Snowe DeLeon. Nyquist scored 14 points, while DeLeon scored 21 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least a third of Mt. Pleasant's points.
Mt. Pleasant's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for James Lick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-21.
Mt. Pleasant will head out on the road to challenge Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Pleasant will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1001st, while Live Oak is ranked 449th). James Lick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
