North Shore (Houston) closed out the regular season with a dominant 35-10 win over
Summer Creek (Houston). The Mustangs stormed back after the Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead and scored the final 35 points.
Senior quarterback
Kaleb Bailey got North Shore on the board early in the second quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 10-7.
D'Andre Hardeman gave the Mustangs their first lead with a 1-yard score to make it 14-7 with just under two minutes remaining.
Chace Calicut picked off
Blake Thomas to give the Mustangs their first interception of the season and they turned that turnover into seven points after Bailey connected with
Quanell Farrahkan Jr. for a 25-yard score right before halftime.
Arkansas-bound defensive back
Nigel Pringle returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a 95-yard score to extend the lead to 28-10. Bailey added an 18-yard touchdown run to make it 35-10. North Shore heads into the 6A Division 1 playoffs with a 10-0 record and have made it to the state championship game in five of the last six years. They won it all in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
