MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 6 North Shore beats Summer Creek, 35-10

No. 6 North Shore (Houston) closed out the regular season with a dominant 35-10 win over Summer Creek (Houston). The Mustangs stormed back after the Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead and scored the final 35 points.

Senior quarterback Kaleb Bailey got North Shore on the board early in the second quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 10-7. D'Andre Hardeman gave the Mustangs their first lead with a 1-yard score to make it 14-7 with just under two minutes remaining. Chace Calicut picked off Blake Thomas to give the Mustangs their first interception of the season and they turned that turnover into seven points after Bailey connected with Quanell Farrahkan Jr. for a 25-yard score right before halftime.

Arkansas-bound defensive back Nigel Pringle returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a 95-yard score to extend the lead to 28-10. Bailey added an 18-yard touchdown run to make it 35-10. North Shore heads into the 6A Division 1 playoffs with a 10-0 record and have made it to the state championship game in five of the last six years. They won it all in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Other nationally-ranked Texas teams No. 3 Duncanville, No. 10 North Crowley (Fort Worth), No. 19 Atascocita and No. 25 DeSoto all closed out the regular season on Thursday with dominant performances. 

The Panthers rolled to a 48-6 win over Cedar Hill (Texas) as Keelon Russell finished the regular season with 2,830 yards passing and 40 touchdowns. North Crowley improved to 10-0 with a 65-21 win over Crowley (Texas). The Panthers are averaging 58 points per game as they head into the playoffs. The Eagles cruised to a 73-14 win over Goose Creek Memorial (Baytown, Texas) and DeSoto beat Lancaster (Texas), 45-13.

No. 11 Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) began the MIAA-A playoffs with a 38-0 win over Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore). It was the Cavaliers eighth shutout of the season and have outscored opponents, 456-27.

Montavin Quisenberry and No. 13 Boyle County (Danville) rolled to a 57-7 win over Perry County Central (Hazard) in the first round of the 4A playoffs. The Rebels have won 31 games in a row and the four-time defending 4A state champs are riding a 20-game playoff win streak.

No. 20 Corner Canyon (Draper) advanced to the 6A semifinals with a 59-34 win over Weber (Pleasant View). Bronson Evans threw for three scores and senior offensive lineman Zion Finau rushed for two touchdowns. The three-star offensive lineman leads the team with 12 rushing scores on the season. Up next for the Chargers is Lehi (Utah) after the Pioneers beat American Fork (Utah), 28-7.
