The Rancho Cotate Cougars lost against the Healdsburg Greyhounds back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Rancho Cotate received a tough blow as they fell 59-40 to Healdsburg. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rancho Cotate in their matchups with Healdsburg: they've now lost four in a row.
Loss or not, Rancho Cotate got some senior leadership from Xenia Zabaneh who scored 16 points and Reese Hackamack who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Zabaneh scored 15 or more points.
Rancho Cotate's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Healdsburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Cotate will be home for the holidays to greet St. Vincent de Paul at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Vincent de Paul's defense has only allowed 25.6 points per game this season, so Rancho Cotate's offense will have their work cut out for Rancho Cotate. Healdsburg will be home for the holidays to greet Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 849th, while Healdsburg is ranked 179th).
