The Oakwood Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Armstrong Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Cissna Park hit Oakwood with a four-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets fell 10-5 to the Timberwolves.

Weston Frazier and Grady Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: Frazier went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI, while Johnson went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Frazier is becoming a predictor of Oakwood's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). Gauge Carrillo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, while Armstrong put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Iroquois West. The Trojans came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 4-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.
Traxton Roberts was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.
Roberts wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rhys Showalter, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Armstrong's record now sits at 13-2. As for Oakwood, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oakwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Armstrong struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Oakwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Armstrong in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
