The Granite Hills Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 75-31 win over Mount Miguel at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Kerstena Tomika continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Delaney Fry, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Mount Miguel saw an underclassman step up: Jaylene Hughes scored 31 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 100% of Mount Miguel's points, marking the 24th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Granite Hills is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Mount Miguel, they dropped their record down to 4-23 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Granite Hills will square off against Grossmont at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Grossmont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Granite Hills in California (Grossmont is ranked 217th, while Granite Hills is ranked 560th). As for Mount Miguel, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Helix at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Helix focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
