Emma Rangeloff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Madilyn Reese was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Addison Johnson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
North Bend Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, NEN never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ponca as they made off with an 8-0 victory. NEN might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like North Bend Central, NEN also got a great game from a two-way player: Anna Jacobs. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Jacobs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Ross, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Karlie Rutar was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
North Bend Central's record is now 11-14. As for NEN, their record now sits at 16-9.
North Bend Central might still be hurting after the 15-4 defeat they got from NEN in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
