After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northgate, the Concord Bears were happy to have found some success on Monday. They escaped with a win against Alhambra by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39. For Concord, this counts as revenge for the 70-27 loss Alhambra walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2019.
Leading Concord to victory were A'mariah Iglesias and Lamiyah Washington. Iglesias scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Washington dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Washington has scored at least a third of Concord's points.
Concord's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Alhambra, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.
Concord will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Diablo is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Alhambra, they will square off against Campolindo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
