The High Plains Storm will head out on the road to take on the Elba Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully High Plains focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
High Plains unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak. They were beaten by Cross County 58-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points High Plains has scored all season.
Peyton Hofmann was High Plains' leading scorer, having posted nine points. Hofmann also led the team in rebounds with five.
Gahvrielle Lesiak took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Meanwhile, Elba's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Harvard by a score of 39-31. Elba's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
High Plains' loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Elba, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
High Plains was able to grind out a solid victory over Elba in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, winning 49-36. Will High Plains repeat their success, or does Elba have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
