Football Recap: Niskayuna Skates Past Bethlehem Central with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niskayuna). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bethlehem Central Eagles 49-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Silver Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Eagles are ranked 323rd).

Niskayuna's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Grasso, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards and one TD. Grasso showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 59 yards. Chase Meisner was another key back, rushing for 124 yards and one score on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Niskayuna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 347 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Niskayuna and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Bethlehem Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
