Basketball Recap: Modoc Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Modoc rose to the challenge on Thursday. They breezed past Hamilton to the tune of 59-13. Modoc has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Modoc's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Katie Erquiaga led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Erquiaga has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Caelli DePaul was another key player, on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Modoc smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 25 consecutive games.

Modoc's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points over those games. As for Hamilton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.

Modoc will face off against Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Modoc knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Durham likes a good challenge. Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
