Cheyenne Mountain extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They put the hurt on The Classical Academy Titans with a sharp 9-2 win. Fans of the Red-Tailed Hawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Addison Gutschick made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Corrine Harlow, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Madison Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Having lost for the first time this season, The Classical Academy fell to 3-1. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but Cheyenne Mountain's pitcher proved too tough.
On The Classical Academy's side, Ada Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Wilson.
At the plate, Basil Murphy made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taytum Kimbro, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Cheyenne Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 defeat against Lutheran on the 3rd. As for The Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 14-0 victory against Rampart on the 3rd.
