The Foothill Falcons will be taking part in a tournament against the Redwood Giants at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Foothill 2.1, Redwood 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Foothill had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Berean Christian on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jackson Hoban looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Foothill got a big performance out of Take Sato-Kreis, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Sato-Kreis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Wescott, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berean Christian only posted a batting average of .240.
Meanwhile, Redwood waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged out the Patriots 8-6.
Maxim Wells looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chase Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. TJ Beck was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Foothill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Redwood, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Foothill has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Redwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Foothill couldn't quite get it done against Redwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
