The Jurupa Valley Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 22-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palm Springs.
Palm Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Naomi Bote, who scored seven points along with five steals and three blocks. Bote hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Aja Walker was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Jurupa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Palm Springs, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Jurupa Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Colton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jurupa Valley in California (Colton is ranked 610th, while Jurupa Valley is ranked 1239th). Palm Springs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Indian Springs at 10:45 a.m. on December 30th. Indian Springs' defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Palm Springs' offense will have their work cut out for Palm Springs.
