Oswego East is 9-1 against West Aurora since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Oswego East will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Yorkville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Foxes on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Aurora, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Ridgewood on Thursday as they made off with a 13-3 victory. Considering the Blackhawks have won 11 games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Tyler Fecht was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Juarez Jeremiah was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Keegan Olsen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
West Aurora was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgewood only posted a batting average of .217.
West Aurora's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Oswego East, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
Oswego East came out on top in a nail-biter against West Aurora in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
