The Brockway Rovers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They were the clear victor by a 56-31 margin over Union. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Brockway also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Brockway found their leader in underclassman Sophia Schmader, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 steals. Schmader continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rheanna Spinda, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Ava Strauser, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strauser has scored all season.
Brockway's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Union, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Brockway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Clarion-Limestone is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
