The Hughesville Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 26 points or more this season. They blew past Warrior Run 65-39. The victory was familiar territory for Hughesville who now have nine in a row.
Hughesville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddie Smith out in front who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. Smith continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ava Snyder was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Hughesville's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Warrior Run, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughesville will face off against Southern Columbia Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southern Columbia Area is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Warrior Run, they will head out on the road to face off against Loyalsock Township at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
