The High Tech SD Storm won the last time they faced the Crawford Colts, and things went their way on Friday too. High Tech SD managed a 56-51 win over Crawford. The win made it back-to-back wins for High Tech SD.
It was another big night for Vivianna Cravens, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylei Hayward, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Crawford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samitioata Fidow, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Fatuma Abdi, who scored 15 points.
Crawford struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as High Tech SD racked up 11 assists.
High Tech SD has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Crawford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Tech SD on the road again on Tuesday and play against Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Crawford, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sweetwater at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Sweetwater is on a three-game streak of home losses, Crawford a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
