Truckee is 9-1 against Wooster since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Truckee Wolverines will challenge the Wooster Colts at 4:00 p.m. Truckee has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Truckee is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Churchill County. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly five runs.
Calvin Curtis and Logan Arata stepped up to the plate in a big way. Curtis scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Arata scored a run while going 2-for-5.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Truckee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Wooster hadn't done well against Dayton recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Wooster skirted past Dayton 7-5. The Colts' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Cooper Fuss made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Jett Rotsma looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Rowan Andersen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Edgar Nunez Montano also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Wooster now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Truckee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Truckee has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Wooster struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
