Baseball Recap: Acalanes Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Acalanes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let the Alhambra Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Dons: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-2 defeat.

Acalanes got a great performance from Branson Smith as he didn't allow a single earned run over 8.1 innings pitched. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Acalanes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Goddard, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

Acalanes' record is now 11-5-1. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Acalanes will challenge rival Campolindo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alhambra is set to face off against their familiar foe College Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.8, the Falcons 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
