The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds were the 48-26 winner over the Barr-Reeve Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Eastern Greene took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barr-Reeve on Tuesday. Eastern Greene has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Barr-Reeve's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Bledsoe, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Bledsoe's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava B Carter, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Eastern Greene has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Barr-Reeve, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Greene will take on Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Clay City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for Barr-Reeve, they will head out on the road to face off against North Knox at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Knox will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
