It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Andover Huskies can now relate to. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chanhassen on Friday. Andover's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Andover's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Pemberton, who threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Pemberton has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dmario Davenport, who gained 195 total yards and two touchdowns.
Andover's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Chanhassen, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Andover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chanhassen is on the road again on November 25th and play against St. Thomas Academy at 4:00 p.m. on November 25th. St. Thomas Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Chanhassen likes a good challenge.
