The Williamson Warriors waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Athens by a score of 35-26. Given Williamson's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Athens is ranked 570th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Williamson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Meisner out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Meisner is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenna Thomas, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Williamson pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Athens, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Williamson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Athens, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
