The South Hills Huskies lost against the Walnut Mustangs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. South Hills fell to Walnut 42-37.
Walnut's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Olia, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Maileeh Suasti was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
South Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Walnut, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Hills will take on Diamond Bar at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut won't have much time to rest: their next match is against California at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. California is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
