The San Marino Titans will square off against the El Rancho Dons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. San Marino is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
San Marino took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They skirted past Village Christian 4-2.
Nate Kar and Caleb Newton dominated on the mound. Kar pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Newton tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Furthermore, Kar didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, San Marino's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tom?s Bilvado, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Bilvado a new career-high. Another was Parker Wilson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
While El Rancho didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Oxford Academy on Friday. That's two games straight that the Dons have won by exactly four runs.
El Rancho also got a great performance from Eric Cortes as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Cortes also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because El Rancho is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Aparicio, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Alexander Moraza was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
San Marino's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for El Rancho, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
San Marino skirted past El Rancho 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does San Marino have another victory up their sleeve, or will El Rancho turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
