Neshannock is 8-2 against Laurel since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Neshannock Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Laurel Spartan at 6:30 p.m. Neshannock is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Neshannock pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ellwood City. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Neshannock came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Ellwood City is ranked 264th).
Meanwhile, Laurel ended up a good deal behind Greenville on Saturday and lost 52-37. Laurel has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Neshannock's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Laurel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Neshannock took their victory against Laurel in their previous matchup on January 4th by a conclusive 62-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Neshannock since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
