Baseball Recap: Loganville Christian Academy Find Success

Loganville Christian Academy's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Riverside Military Academy Eagles a 23-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Alex Carruthers made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brooks Baldwin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Loganville Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-9 when he doesn't). Marshall Myers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Loganville Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Loganville Christian Academy's record is now 5-9. As for Riverside Military Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

As for Riverside Military Academy, they will welcome Cottage at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cottage has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.25 runs per game on average), something Riverside Military Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
